We were thrilled to be able to skype with Tyler for mother's day - it was great to see his face while we spoke with him!!!
Hello everybody!
Hope that all of you had a fantastic week, it was
good to say hello yesterday, Julia looks like a totally different person!!
Well, I guess there's not a whole ton to
share, but I wanted to leave you with one cool experience we had this week:
During planning we decided to go by a part-member
family in the far northeast corner of our area. The next we passed by, knocked
and got no answer, the neighbors told us a new family had just moved in a few
months ago, dang! The mission teaches to tract a few doors if we don't get
an answer at a pass by, to make the trip more effective. We were going to knock
the doors right beside the house but then felt we should go around the corner
of the road and knock doors on the other side of the street. We were knocking
doors and a man from the Congo walked by. Elder D talked to him and he readily
accepted to hear our message. He said he wanted to know why there are
so many churches today. We didn't get into any of the houses we knocked,
but we taught this man, named Jules, last night after we skyped. He is one of
the most prepared people I have ever met, we invited him to be baptized, and he
said "if God tells me I should, who can resist?". Haha, he's really
incredible, he's been here 1 year and is trying to bring his family of 7 over
as well. He committed himself to read the book of mormon and pray before we
could even get the invitation out of our mouths. It was so incredible, because
each of us was inspired at different times, and because we listened we were led
directly to a great man seeking the truth. I know God directs us when we listen
to Him; He is involved in His work.
Hope you are all doing great, it sure looked like
it! I love you all and pray for you every day!
Elder Gedlaman
