Hi Everybody!
Glad to hear that you are all doing well! Almost
done school for Paige and Julia, hang in there!
We are doing well, being in a trio is
interesting. We saw some disappointment this week, Jordan disappeared again,
after looking really solid to be baptized on Sunday. It was pretty sad but of
course people have their agency. "True disciples of
Christ maintain their vision of who they are and what they do and
continue diligently moving forward" PMG
Working in a family ward again (we cover both
areas) is also good. We have a lot of investigators including a family of 7
people from Burma. The kids have good English but the parents struggle a bit.
The children translate for them so teaching takes a while but its worth it. We
gave them each a book of Mormon, and they all agreed to read and pray, the
father shared an experience he had when he was 14. He didn't believe in God,
but was reading the Bible and felt the Spirit very strongly, and from that day
he has been totally dedicated to Jesus Christ. That was amazing because we were
able to testify to him that that same Spirit will be there as he reads, ponders
and prays about the Book of Mormon. It is so great to see an entire family
making the first step towards being an eternal family!
The week as a whole was completely nuts. On Monday
(as you already know) we went to Burlington (2 hours away) for zone conference.
Tuesday was preparation day and that night we drove to Kitchener. Early the
next morning we went to the very first mission leadership council( replacing
zone leader council because of the new sister training leader position), which
was amazing. Elder Johnson was there again and he trained us, then we had a
question and answer period with him. Did you know that every month the Apostles
and Seventies have a gigantic testimony meeting in the Salt Lake Temple?! I
thought that was crazy! Friday we gave a zone training and that night we went
to Windsor on exchanges, getting back Saturday night. Then on Sunday we had 2
meetings with our stake president. Phew, I haven't been that exhausted since
the very start of my mission, we were dead! But it always feels good to be
giving 100% effort in God's work.
Well, love you all, look forward to hearing from
you soon! On Sunday you can call around 5 o'clock my time, if that time doesn't
work we can talk briefly on Saturday night to arrange something. Till then
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to Mom, Grandmas Fisher and Gedlaman and everyone else who is
or will be a mom! Have an amazing week!
Elder Gedlaman
