Hi everybody!!
I trust all is well... except Paige's nose, hope
you feel better soon! And Mom I hope that you're enjoying a nice break after
killing it again in school this year.
Elder De, Elder D and I are now a trio, serving
both areas/units. It is interesting but a lot of fun. Our investigators are
doing well. Unfortunately Chang Hao had to leave London sooner than
anticipated, he moved to Mississauga on Tuesday, dang!! Jordan is
doing awesome, thanks for all your prayers on his behalf.
We had a very busy week. It started with skills
and interviews with President Scott, that was a great experience of course.
Then we went to Brampton to drop off Elder D’s companion. We had two wards to
go to on Sunday since we are now a trio and then yesterday we drove to
Burlington (near Oakville) for a zone conference. It was hectic but we had some
great experiences.
One of those was immediately following a lesson
with 2 investigators. It was 8:30 and time for us to go home. We had worked
hard all day, talking with everyone and trying to be effective. As we went to
the car a lady was inside her yard taking care of a garden. We stopped and
talked to her, and her husband came out just as we did. It turns out they had met
missionaries before but lost contact with them when they moved cities, they
were totally willing and happy to have us come by and share a message. Isn't
that always how God works? When you are tired and feel you've done your best,
but you give that last ounce of effort, THAT's when you see miracles.
Another interesting experience. A Seventy, Elder
Paul V. Johnson, attended and instructed us. He was an amazing man, smart,
humble, loving and very sincere. We learned tons and had a great time. At the
end President called up a few missionaries, including Elder D and myself. While
everyone was leaving he explained that Elder Johnson wanted to interview a few
missionaries. So I got the chance to talk one on one with a Seventy. It was
short, not quite what I expected, he just asked a few questions about me, my
plans and what my mission experience has been. Then he asked what I would
change about the training he gave today. I gave him a suggestion and then it
ended.
Well, love you all and trust you are doing great!
Talk to you next week, thanks for all you do!!
Elder Gedlaman
