Hello family!
I trust that all is well. That is really too bad
about Aunt Daveeda, at least she is in a better place! Hopefully the family
takes it well. Good luck as well for exams coming up for Paige and Julia! Also
congrats to Peter on being a Zone Leader (as dad would say: not that it's
something to be congratulated for, but he will learn a TON from the calling,
it's one of the most amazing things to be able to serve the other missionaries
as well as serve your investigators)
Our area is good, it took a few days to get used
to but we are loving it, easily the strongest overall member core I've
seen in Ontario, with the possible exception of Sudbury. We are
both zone leaders, that rule hasn't changed.
Haha, yeah President Stephen's daughter told me
she'd sent a photo to her dad, she took it while I was giving a talk. First
week in the area and the high councilor bombed so we got shanghai-ed into
it! No idea why she'd say I was a good missionary, other than either she liked
my talk or she didn't want to say otherwise to someone in my stake presidency!!
Hey, send a big congrats as well to Tanner,
sounds like he had a great mission, good for him. It'll bless him for the rest
of his life!!
Well, one quick experience and then I'm going to
split! We are teaching a young woman named Tabitha right now. She has a lot of
family/personal challenges and questions whether or not God is there. Our first
lesson we simply taught the nature of God, prayer and baptism, and then invited
her to pray and communicate with God for herself. That night, at 10, we got a
text "are you guys still awake", and then "I prayed and felt
something". She described it like a good, peaceful feeling and tingling
all over her body. It's so amazing, as one member put it, how an hour with
missionaries and a simple prayer can open the doors to communication with the
Supreme Creator of the Universe and the Father of us all. I know He answers, He
did, He does, and He always will!
Hope that you all continue to have your own
moments of connection with our Father in Heaven! We are doing great, Elder J is
great (but he beats me at wrestling :( ), we have lots of fun and we are going
to baptize!!! Talk to you next week!
Elder Gedlaman
